THE EMBASSY OF GHANA HOSTS A ROUNDTABLE BUSINESS MEETING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AFRICAN INNOVATION NETWORK

On Wednesday 10th April 2024, the Embassy of Ghana hosted a roundtable business meeting in partnership with the African Innovation Network on the theme ‘Invest in Ghana: Opportunities, Openness and Optimism’. The event was attended by Chief Executive Officers and high-level officials from seventeen (17) Danish companies.

In her remarks, H.E. Mrs. Sylvia Naa Adaawa Annoh, expressed the delight of the Embassy to host the event which she believed was significant as it fosters a conducive environment for exchange of ideas and to share insight on the business environment in Ghana. The Ambassador highlighted that the roundtable meeting was part of the Embassy’s efforts to deepen economic bilateral relations between Ghana and Denmark.

            The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Authority, Mr. Reginald Yoofi Grant who participated virtually spoke on the topic: ‘Invest in Ghana: A Roundtable on Energy, Digitalisation, and Investment Opportunities’. He highlighted the availability of highly skilled labour and resources, stable political environment, strategic location, and competitive business incentives as some of the reasons that make Ghana an ideal investment destination in Africa. Mr. Grant further stated that the sectors ripe for Danish investment included manufacturing, health, tourism, ICT and Fintech, agriculture and education.

Also, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, H.E. Michael Ocquaye Jnr., shared with the Danish business community the opportunities under Ghana’s Free Zones scheme. He added that Ghana was an ideal destination for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and invited the Danish business community to leverage on the opportunity.

The Chief Executive Officer of the African Innovation Network, Mr. Flemming Soerensen thanked the Ambassador and the staff of the Embassy for hosting the roundtable business meeting and especially for the opportunity for members of the Danish business community to interact with relevant stakeholders in Ghana.

The participants commended the Embassy for hosting the roundtable business meeting and described it as very successful.
