The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Copenhagen invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and reputable individuals for appointment as Honorary Consul of Ghana in Stockholm, Sweden. This appointment seeks to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic, consular, and economic engagements in Stockholm.
About the Role and Key Responsibilities
The Honorary Consul will play a vital role to, among others:
- Represent Ghana’s interests in Stockholm;
- Provide consular support as deemed necessary by the Embassy;
- Promote Ghana’s image and support relevant cultural and trade initiatives;
- Engage the Ghanaian diaspora; and
- Assist in organizing official events, visits, and delegations.
Please note: This is an honorary and non-remunerated position.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be either a citizen of Ghana with legal residence in Sweden; a citizen of Sweden; or a legal resident of Sweden of any nationality;
- Demonstrate outstanding character, integrity, and no criminal record;
- Possess strong local influence and a broad network in business, government, or civil society;
- Show keen interest in Ghana’s cultural and economic development;
- Be fluent in English (knowledge of a Ghanaian local language is a plus);
- Be capable of supporting basic office operations (e.g., office space, communication, accessibility); and
- Be willing to serve voluntarily without financial compensation.
